POST
  1. After submission, a task_id will be returned. If you provided a callback_url, when the task status becomes finished or failed, a POST request will be sent to the callback_url.
  2. Regardless of whether callback_url is provided, you can retrieve the result through the unified Query Task Status endpoint.
FLUX 3 Max Image to Video animates a start image into a 5–20 second video at 720p or 1080p. Add a second image and the model treats it as the end frame, generating the motion that connects the two. Audio is generated in the same pass unless you turn it off. FLUX 3 Max is a video model post-trained by fal in collaboration with Black Forest Labs on the FLUX 3 video base. Vidgo exposes it as three model IDs: Text to Video, Image to Video and Keyframes to Video.

Models

  • blackforestlabs/flux-3-max/image-to-video — Image-to-video with FLUX 3 Max from a start frame and an optional end frame.

Features

  • Image-to-video from one start frame.
  • First and last frame control: a second image sets where the clip ends.
  • Integer durations from 5 to 20 seconds at 720p or 1080p.
  • Eight aspect ratios; auto follows the first image.
  • Native audio on by default.

Input modes

  • Start frame: image_urls with one image. The video opens on that image.
  • Start and end frame: image_urls with two images. The first opens the video and the second closes it.

Required parameters

  • image_urls (string[]): One or two public HTTP(S) image URLs (PNG, JPEG or WebP). Order matters: start frame first, end frame second.
  • prompt (string): How the scene moves, the camera movement and, with sound on, the audio. Must not be blank.

Optional parameters

  • duration (integer): Output length in seconds, 5–20. Default 5.
  • resolution (string): 720p or 1080p. Default 720p.
  • aspect_ratio (string): auto, 21:9, 2:1, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 or 9:16. Default auto.
  • sound (boolean): Generate native audio with the video. Default true; set false for silent footage.

Output

The finished task returns one MP4 video in the files array of Query Task Status and the callback payload.

Examples

  • Start frame only: one portrait image with a short motion prompt, aspect_ratio: auto so the video keeps the image’s shape.
  • Start and end frame: a closed box and an open box as the two frames, an 8-second 1080p silent clip and a callback_url.

Notes

  • image_urls takes at most two images. To place more images at chosen points in time, use FLUX 3 Max Keyframes to Video.
  • Images must be publicly reachable over HTTP(S) and must not contain embedded credentials. Fields not listed above, such as keyframes, return 400.
  • Credits are reserved at submission and depend on resolution and duration. The rate is the same for text-to-video, image-to-video and keyframes-to-video, and sound does not change it. A failed task is refunded in full. See the pricing page for current rates.
  • There is no 4K tier, no seed and no output longer than 20 seconds on this model.
